Ams lower down pipes review

Just installed these bad boys. Took about 1.5 hours.

3” pipes.

Finish: the quality of the pipes are good and the worlds are good as well.

It’s not a perfect polish like an exhaust, but it’s s down pipe so I don’t expect them to polish it to perfection.

Sound: I have the Infiniti sport non muffler version which I think sounds great already, but I can definitely tell a difference in sound after the down pipes. I would say it’s more of a race sound/tone.

There is also an exhaust tone at wide open throttle now which is awesome because it sounds like I have an intake but it’s coming from the exhaust. Usually the exhaust cuts off after low/mid rpm but it doesn’t with down pipes.

Performance: this is off my butt dyno, but it feels so much more responsive. Less lag when accelerating. Which makes perfect sense opening up those turbos. I can honestly feel gains throughout the whole power band but mainly mid rpms. These pipes do make more torque than hp.

Final thoughts: well worth the 400 dollars. The sound is so much more aggressive in a good way. And the gains are definitely noticeable

And no check engine light

I took it to muffler shop. They charged 100 an hour so I paid 150. Seemed easier than I thought. It’s the upper down pipe that is hard.

Wow the exhaust sounds so much better second day. Such a better tone and at wide open throttle. It’s a mod a lot of ppl look past because they assume an exhaust is better but I felt more gains from this than my axle back muffler.

Here are some clips. Try to listen to it from your car speakers. You get the true sound.

Having done full downpipes, they are a major PITA and I was on a lift. LDPs looked way easier. Glad you noticed gains from them. Now for a y and mid 🙂

It gets better... try installing Full (Catted) DPs on an AWD. FI did the installation on my Q60S AWD in-house, a 1st for them since SoCal typically has RWD Q50/Q60s. It took them another 1 - 1 1/2 hrs. over their labor estimate for the RWD installation.
