help with installing rear dome/map lights? where to get power from?

HI all, I know i posted on this earlier, but i'm hoping with a more specific question i might get some more answers...

I tried to tap into the front reading/map lights, which would allow me to turn on and off the rear lights (which is something i would like to do) however it would seem that they don't have enough power to light up a 1' LED strip? is that possible? (i've seen similar things with LED's....) i''m trying light a 1ft led strip.

anyways, if that doesn't work, any other idea's?

I wouldn't suggest you to do this type of things alone. It's better to bring your car to mechanic and let him do this modification

Well I spent most some time today going through the car and I figured out the fuse for the interior lights is located by the driver's foot well. I bought a house tap and am taking power off there....even better is that it's controlled by the headlight switch....so unlike the Infiniti radiant light that has to be turned on and off manually...this will work automatically (and I'll wire in a switch to disable them if needed.

I had called a few shops and they all said it could not be wired into the cars lighting system ...
