trunk lid and rain

While opening the trunk lid on a heavy rainy day, water that pooled on the top of the trunk lid ran over the edge , over the gutter and most of it ended up in the inside of the trunk compartment.

If you're anal about the water issue, wax that area very well and water shouldn't pool there anymore. If it still does, you can shut the trunk to get the water off, then open normally.

Just open the trunk lid enough so that the water pours off, then you can open it all the way. This is a common complaint.
