Pure Turbos Upgraded Turbos

I don't know if anyone saw, but it looks like Pure Turbos released their VR30 turbo upgrade for purchase on their website. A hefty $3,795 compared to R/T's $2,200 if I recall correctly, but it looks like they're making slightly more power at 574WHP compared to the 538WHP quoted from this post about R/T's turbo upgrade, but that could just be because Pure is running E30 and 2 extra pounds of boost? Both looks like solid curves all the way to redline so that's good. Would be nice to see an apples to apples comparison before spending an extra $1,600. What are your guys' thoughts?

I think if I wanted 500+ HP at the rear wheel, I would have bought a car with 500+ HP at the rear wheel.

pure has a excellent reputation in the BMW community. I'm sure if AMS or R/T tuned it...the turbos would've made even more power but its always good to have more options.

After core, its 2600

so 1300 per side..

Id need to the specs over every inch of this turbo to hand over 2600

Seriously, these are barely over a Garrett Super60 size.

Twin scoll?
Divided housings?

What is making these things $1300ea?

Id need to see a compressor map to see what they can and cant do.

Anyone care to ask for a compressor map when they buy a set? Curious to see what the line is.

For comparison, a Garrett super 60 T3 is (was) around $600-650 ish. They flow about 28lbs/min IIRC and good for 275hp. They might have increased in price as they got popular as replacements for older nissans.

So if the VR30 had a T3 flange, one could strap 2 super 60s on and make 550hp easily. Especially since the compression on the VR30 is around 10.5-1.

Just spit ballin here

After thinking about it, since they arethe 1st to come out with it, the price is higher.

Anyone interested in these snails who have alot of patience will save when other kits com available.

I sent a mssg to my buddy @ SpeedTrap Consulting who works with Garrett designing more efficient turbos.
Maybe they will come out with a kit in the future.

Anyone wondering what STC has done in the past, just look up

STC Reaper
STC silver surfer
STC Terminator

Insane power thru efficient design
