Although both these vehicles have not been released on the market yet but it will be interesting to see what kind of fight it will be.

There is a great possibility the TLX will be available in a hybrid drivetrain and will still have the 6 speed manual that the TL is known for. Will they release a 7 speed auto? Only time will tell. The drivetrain could be similar to the RLX and have similarities to the new NSX.

It is a fair fight. The Q60 may or may not come with an AWD option. The TL or TLX is of course a 4 door and it would be more comparable to the Q50 but there is no doubt people will cross shop these cars.

The new RLX interior is very nice and I am expecting the same to be on the TLX. The new Q50 interior is also very nice vs the G37 interior. I think both of these cars will be great cars. What brings me to the G37 and eventually the G60 over the TL will carry on with the TLX.

The TL even though a great sedan is not RWD. The AWD is a great system but if you want a true drivers car for fun the RWD is the way to go. The TL is also a sedan which I don't require.. The most important thing of all is that the TL lacks low end torque. TO get the TL going you really have to rev the engine up to higher RPMS were VTEC will engage. It is fun to do but in the city this isn't very practical. The VQ V6 has enough torque to get me going without having to rev the piss out of the motor..

Will this change with the new Hybrid V6 in the TLX? It is possible. Hybrid electric motors add a decent amount of torque across the entire RPM band. The TLX Hybrid would be a healthy competitor to the RWD or AWD Q50/Q60.

Drivetrain layouts and their prices on both cars, will determine which car a cross shopper that is really into cars will rather have: RWD (Q60) or the other car with FWD or SH-AWD with maybe P-AWD (Acura TLX).

Being a person that has always driven RWD vehicles, so far i'm going to say Q60. But I heard SH-AWD is so good that when driving you wont be able to tell you're driving a FWD biased vehicle and equipped with P-AWS you have some great handling.

Driving both cars before buying will help
I think the TLX AWD is more comparable to the Q50 AWD directly. They are both nice cars but I think the Q50 and Q60 will always be sportier and more powerful. It'll be even more competitive if they release the Q50 Hybrid AWD and the new TLX will also be Hybrid AWD just like the new RLX.
Its hard to really compare these two as Acura's TLX wont becoming in RWD like the Q60. and not to mention one is a coupe and one is a sedan. Acura has dropped the idea in further development of RWD vehicles since they left off with the NSX. And now thats even brought back as a sophisticated AWD.
I'm starting to doubt Acura will release the TLX. It's been a long time since I've heard anything about it. The ILX was a failure, I think Acura is taking a step back to figure out what happened so they don't repeat the mistake with another new model.

That is true they kind of just faded away with the TLX idea. But they need it badly to help them do what the ILX couldn't.
Yeah it pretty much died down. Acura is probably traumatized at how crappy their sales went with the ILX and are having second thoughts. They have bigger worries at the moment with the upcoming new compact segment from Mercedes and BMW the CLA and 2 series.
there is no rendering or nothing on the Acura TLX. It'll be late to the game. By the time the TLX comes out the Q60 will already be out by then and probably moving on to the next generation Q60 ;)
I think the Q50 would be a better comparison being a sedan.

That is true, there isn't too many coupes any more coming from acura which might help them a bit if they ever decided to manufacture any.
That is probably why they are not doing so well at the moment. It seems as if all their lines of vehicles are not selling. They might have to reconsider to give consumers some more options. the infiniti Q60 as a coupe is not a good comparison maybe the Q50 sedan would be better.
So when it comes down to it which engine or build do you think is more reliable, Acura or infiniti?

Acura aka Honda is where it's at for at least four cylinder engines I have heard problems with their V6's and the transmissions they use on them.

Honda seems to be the master at 4 cylinder engines.

acura (honda) by far, very far

Even for a long time infiniti owner like myself I will agree with that statement because I know its true. At this point we are not arguing about numbers but that would be a different story.
i owned quite a few hondas and beated the crap out of them and they just never gave up, meanwhile I had my nissan/infiniti friends that did the same and they just had repairs to deal with while I was driving ;)

Honda's don't give up

I don't think the Honda V6 is more reliable than the Nissan V6 my any significant amount.

They both are reliable V6s.
