It's the 428i coupe now. BMW just released their promo shots and video of the new series

Is there a reason we wouldn't compare this against a M3?

Pretty good specs, but i wish it came with a DCT instead of a 6 speed auto.
can't expect a DCT for a car in this price range. their auto is not bad. quick to shift.
yea DCT is not a cheap technology yet, eventually we should have it that DCT is the cheapest and most efficient...
it's not cheap tech but when produced on mass scale for a car that's sold in a number of nations and even used in more than one vehicle, cost wont be an issue.

probabnother 5-10 years before regular automatics might jsut get phased out completely except for the most entry level cars.
It looks to be the way that things are going now. In fact driving generally is getting more and more automatic. All those driver assistance features will continue developing and spreading. I think that it is probably for the best. Ideal design is to make things easier and easier to use, and that is the way of automatics. Not to mention benefits to performance.

it's going to get crazy, already we're seeing bits of it in new cars, all part of the transition to a full sell driving vehicle. I just wonder how much longer.
