If that's true, it's very interesting. They must not have sold very many 300 hp, which is surprising.

That, or they plan on reducing the price of the red sport.

Still, that would leave quite a power jump between the 2.0T and the red sport.

probably not a lot of dealers ordered the silver sports since the delta from silver sport to red sport was only $2k. Thats only around $30-40 more a month on a lease, so most people probably opted for the redsport since you get the extra 100hp from the factory.

If they made it around 4k cheaper then you probably would've had more silver sport buyers, but then it would canbalize the lux sales.

They'll probably just copy BMW and have the redsport the top trim and offer something similar to a M package for the lux if people want the suspension and brake upgrades.

Apparently that article is from the latest Car and Driver. The starting delta between SS and RS is just under 4k. Notably, the delta between LUXE and SS is also just under 4k. If they axe the SS and just offer the brakes, suspension, sport wheels, and summer tires as a performance package in addition to the other SS features (leather seats, power lumbar, power steering column), it will definitely come at a premium over current pricing. Unless their intention is to add all those features in as standard, sans the performance package, and increase the base cost of LUXE...

As of right now I've heard nothing losing the SS... as for the Q50 Infiniti seems to be putting its focus on the Sport model which is why I doubt the Q60 Silver sport would be dropped.
