-Is the Infiniti exhaust upgreade (Part B0100-Q60S2) still available?
Any of the parts listed
here are available through Infiniti of Honolulu
for order, with no shipping charge. It's best to assume they carry nothing in stock.
I'm not sure if they will honor warranty of a Q60 not purchased at their dealership though.
DM me if you want the Parts Manager's email. (He's nice, mechanics are bleh.)
Or is the fob the only way to get the door open?
While you do need a subscription, you can install a
Virtual Key (Lexus calls it Digital Key) to use your smartphone instead of your keyfob.
Some however say it replaces your keyfobs, so I'm not sure if you can have both.
But it means you have to use the app to unlock... so maybe touchless keyfob is enough. (By default, with the key in your pocket, you can slide your hand into the door handle and it'll unlock.)
They do, but you can't split them. You also have to pull a tag from the trunk, then go back into the cabin and pull the seats down. I estimate it would fit a shortboard without touching the front seats.
Also, since I've been a busybody anyway... quick buyers guide.
Infiniti of Honolulu will not take new orders of the Q60 (because it's discontinued, as you know).
This has been sitting on their lot for over a year now, as far as I can remember. Maybe you can get a deal, but you would have to be aggressive.
Total price shipping your Q60 from the mainland would probably be better than buying here.
Avoid 2017 model. (Anything older is actually an G37 in disguise. Blame Ghosn.)
Apple Carplay was only introduced in 2020, so make sure you get a 2020 or newer if its important to you. Aftermarket infortainment solutions are Android based, so they do Android well, but not Apple Carplay, according to the reviews. YMMV.
Everyone hates DAS (
Directive Adaptive Steering) but a scant few who properly see the Q60 as a GT car. Try to see if your trim has the
Proactive package = DAS. Some say the newer models have a better implementation, so its best that you test it yourself. (All the Q60 option packages are a bit funky, so its like they want you to get all of them by sprinkling key features into each.)
DDS (
Dynamic Digital Suspension) is only available on the RS but it means your coilovers options become limited. It might not be worth just to go for the RS for DDS.
Probably better to get higher sidewall tires and smaller wheels (RS comes with 20"s while the others come with 19"s) to mitigate all the potholes than DDS.
The RS is prehaps better if you want to do a light tune or keep it stock. A tuned and modded lower trim would be no different than the RS.
AWD is generally considered the better option, scarce or not available in the warmer states. (It's as heavy as a RC F... definitely not a nimble car that can take advantage of RWD, at least fully stock.) You certainly have more coilover options for AWD than RWD. For example, AWD coilovers w/DDS are $1,200~1,400, but for RWD, the only option (that is in stock) are RS-R's $3,000 ones. The RWD does sit a little lower than the AWD so take a look at both if you plan to keep it stock.
