Audi A5/S5 vs Infiniti Q60

This is actually kind of a tough decision for me after seeing the new S5. I've always had a really soft spot for the S5 because it was a coupe and it was very sleek. The power difference isn't too much of an issue for me. But the fuel economy is quite substantial ...

Maybe this could give you something to think about ?

If you’re worried there’s not enough power from the Audi A5, then get the S5 which runs on a 3.0L turbo V6 worth 354hp. Whereas the V6 on the Infiniti manages combined fuel economy of 22mpg, the S5 touts 32mpg combined.

The icing on the cake for Audi is of course its virtual cockpit instrument cluster, besides optional ambient lighting, increased cargo space, as well as more tech and safety features.

Nevertheless, the automaker also stresses on the coupe’s weight drop of up to 132lbs coupled with an improved drag coefficient of 0.25 that have led to a boost in overall efficiency.

Congrats man. I traded in a 2018 S5 Prestige Sportback for my Q60 RS AWD. Literally the only things I miss are the virtual cockpit and center armrest volume/media controller. That car felt like a zombie and aside from piggybacks, nobody has cracked the ECU so forget the customary massive gains you'd typically get with F/I Audis.

For the price of a single mid grade B9 S5 CB exhaust you get FBO on this platform hah. Man I'm so glad that car is gone

Yeah the S5 is a nice car, but its hard to beat the q60 bang per buck with the massive discounts and aggressive leases. I also heard Audi is pretty nazi with mods, voiding warranties in the system if they catch you with any mods.

Yeah I test drove an S5 before I bought my Q60 RS and thought it felt sluggish but that was a 2017. According to Zero to Sixty the 2018 S5 comes in at 4.3 while their quarter mile test comes in at 13 seconds. THus faster then the earlier models.

Fine Vehicle, loved the seats and their range of flexibility, put shied away due to longevity and costly repairs after 4 plus years of ownership.

I'm with you man, my 18 S5's throttle response (even in sport mode) was pretty horrid. I felt like the car was an audi masterstroke from a balance standpoint but any S trim shouldn't be that balanced. They should have put the twin from the RS5 in it and simply detuned it for the S. I do like the hot-v engine design w/ the turbo on top but without proper tuning support it doesn't matter. Folks like APR are rightfully focusing on the low 10 second FBO & tune RS3.

I own a FBO Tuned Q60 and drove S5 (2019) stock.
I guess the S5 interior is super nice that's it.
Engine wise and exterior look + sound (FI CBE+LDP) exhaust is by far better than the S5.

Also the Q60 stands out more when it comes to people looking at the car in the street.

The S5 is nice though but hard to move from Q60 to S5 imo. Not much juice there.
