Hi....Want to upgrade my ancient radar detector to new model that blocks IVT, that can also be direct wired into rearview mirror. I am sick of windshield suction cups. And, new windshield is also lightly tinted...so "suction mount is a no-go" long term(?).

Have been "balancing" my dinosaur Escort Passport 8500 X50 on my dash for my first 1200 miles, via a "non-skid dash pad", but this method is is not very safe on twisty/bouncy rural roads.

If a new detector is hard wired into the rearview mirror? Do I need any special bracket, or wire gauge for the 2017 RS400? Will a direct-wiring connection cause issues with the car's electronics? Any possible future warranty issues through Infiniti?

Thanks, all you Lead-Foots......

I have my Valentine one hard wired to my rear view mirror using invisicord, Invisicord - Installation. The detector is mounted using Mikes mount.

That's a pretty inconspicuous setup, or it's as hidden as it's ever going to get with a radar. Is it hard to wire it to the rear view mirror?

There are 2 wires that you push into the wiring harness of the mirror. One wire connects to ground and the other connects to power.

Pretty hard to notice it if you don't look closely. Very inconspicuous.

I have my Max 360 hard wired to the mirror at the same time I had my tinting. The dealership took my car to their vendor for the installations. Outstanding job. The Max 360 suction cup mount is a very good Escort patented device.

Do you by chance know which wire color is power and which is ground?
The black wrapped wire connects to the black wire on the harness and the yellow wrapped wire connects to the GRAY wire on the harness.
