Is there any way to leave the car in sport mode, or any mode other than standard, so I don't always have to switch to it when the car is started ? Thanks.
I usually start my car when I'm in it. Let it warm up for at least two minutes so I've got plenty of tine to jack with stuff including the driving mode
Speaking of "warming up the car," I'm a very fast-paced person so I'm used to getting in my G35, putting the seatbelt on, starting the car and almost immediately shifting from park to reverse to get out of my driveway. The RPMs are already where they're supposed to be so I figured there was no harm. With the Q, the dash has to do it's little BIT (built-in test) before showing the actual RPMs. I'm usually able to put my seatbelt on, and shift into reverse before it's even done the BIT. Never felt the car lunge, shudder, or anything like that so.....harmless, right?
4. Warm-up
Allow the engine to idle for at least 30
seconds after starting. Do not race the
engine while warming it up. Drive at
moderate speed for a short distance
first, especially in cold weather. In cold
weather, keep the engine running for a
minimum of 2 - 3 minutes before
shutting it off. Starting and stopping
the engine over a short period of time
may make the vehicle more difficult to
start.
Yeah.. just enough time to get the oil flowing all the way through and you're good to go. Just don't go hooning straight off the bat and wait for it to hit optimal operating temperature.
That's all you have to worry about is the oil? Turbos suddenly compressing air/fuel into an engine not up to normal operating temps is ok?
