I’ve had my q60 for about a year and a half and I’ve noticed this gear shift issue now after the new ecu update. Took it to the dealer cause I thought it was acting weird. Now it’s doing this:
When I first start driving the car it shifts from 1st to second then back to first while pressing break and then when I let go it jerks.
Really weird issue almost feels like it’s getting stuck in gears. Has anyone had this issue? Or something similar it’s freakin me out basic warranty it almost out!

Kind of confused. Are you saying you start the car, put it in gear, and while the brake is still on it shifts from Drive to 2nd and then back to Drive again? Was the ECU updated because of a factory recall?

when I first start driving it shifts as if it’s in sport mode at like 5 miles per hour.. but not into high rpms. Like a it got stuck in between gears.. really hard to describe but can’t make it happen after car is warmed up

So, the manual instructs the operator to warm the engine for 30 seconds and not to rev the engine, and then to drive slowly. I always warm my car for 2 minutes as per the trip clock because I literally live next to a freeway. Try warming the engine and see it that makes a difference.

Same I have keyless start so I have it on for a couple minutes before getting into the car.. I have no clue

What mode is the car in when this happens? Pay attention to what the Tach is doing when you have this issue. Is it jumping like there's slippage in the transmission?

Alright so it happened a couple times when it was in personal sport mode or sport. Coming to a hard stop from 20 to 0.. it’s like the car is in neutral for a second before starts to move again. And if I don’t press the gas and come to a complete stop like a red light it shifts or has some type of blimp after a few seconds.. this is happening after they did the ecm update for “rough shifting” and did a transmission fluid change. (I’m in cali and the car was acting strange one day on a hot day felt like it wasn’t shifting right.. had them pull the pan to check for shavings just to be safe)..

but this also happens in normal mode when first driving when coming to a moderate stop or slow roll 20 - 9 ish..

Dealership sayin they can’t figure it out lol that it isn’t happening enough or isn’t a failure

I think you have an idle problem that is masquerading as a transmission issue. It looks like you have 59k miles.

What maintenance have you done on the car? Also, I hear a louder exhaust - what mods are on the car?

This could be dirty injectors, faulty spark plugs, dirty MAF sensors, or even carbon on the intake valves.

I have had down pipes for 30k and a muffler delete. Other than that it’s stock

Maintenance wise I’ve done crc pre turbo replacement so it can’t be that they did the injector cleaning. Transmission fluid change. Oil change every 4-6k and drop in filter 20k miles on those.. and diff fluid
