I was surprised how much belt stretch occurred in 25k miles on my Q. I recently replaced the OEM serpentine belt with the Gates belt.

Here's what the indicator looks like after the installation:
Who installed the belt? I wonder if my dealership will install an aftermarket part that bring.

I installed it. Gates is an OEM-equivalent part.

I read that Bando is the OEM supplier for Infiniti.

So I dropped the car off at the dealership a week ago due to an easily reproducible belt squeal at 3k-4k rpm, a very subtle intermittant jingle/chirping sound audible at low speed partial throttle, and a coolant leak. The belt tensioner indicator was right at the mark indicating the belt had some stretch. '17 Q60, completely stock, VIN# not affected by TSB.

I noticed the coolant reservoir was below min so I topped it off with Nissan Blue I had left over from my Z. After 3-5 days, the coolant level dropped to near min again- topped off a 2nd time. I also noticed that the belt squeal sound and chirping was significantly reduced after topping off the coolant, and the sound would come back with increasing volume and frequency as I lost coolant. Never saw any puddles under the car or obvious signs of dried coolant around the engine bay.

After a week at the dealer, they're still diagnosing. My SA told me they are contacting Infiniti specialists and ordered some kind of coolant-in-oil test kit. They were pretty vague with me over the phone, but that's understandable since they haven't officially diagnosed it.

Any ideas what this could be? Would checking the oil for evidence of coolant mean they are thinking this is a head gasket issue? A bit bummed to be having this issue on a car with 39k miles, but the dealership seems to be doing a thorough job. Wish me luck.

Most reports of belt squeal have been due to a water pump leak, but it seems the shop should have figured that out if it were the case.
