Can anyone confirm that the exhaust pipes (cat-back) are stainless steel or regular steel

While installing my aftermarket OEM Helmholtz axle-back I noticed that the pipes looked ‘rusty’ and held a magnet.

I was surprised as I thought full stainless was pretty standard.

Not stainless steel.

I dont think I have had a factory new car or Jeep ever come with stainless.

Many manufacturers that tout S/S stock exhausts use 409 S/S, which is better than Aluminized, but not great when compared to 304 S/S.

What is the difference between 304 and 409 stainless steel?
