Earlier I asked about wheel spacers but didn't get any replies but have different questions

Currently running
20x9.5 265/35r20
20x10.5 305/30r20
On my 17 q60 awd

Do you think 245/45r20 front 275 or 285/40r20 rear would fit? Trying to have some more sidewall for comfort for my girl who would drive my car often

ehhh I would run
255/40/20
275/35/20
That’s what I’m running
You would be pretty outta spec running the size you are wanting to run. It will “fit” however. That will be a lotta wear and tear on the drive terrain

A few problems with running those specs.

Firstly the front is much larger diameter vs rear and may throw off the wheel speed difference front to rear kicking in traction control and/or awd system best to stay as close diameter front to rear as possible. A 245/40/20 is much closer to 275/35/20 in diameter.

and secondly a 275/35/20 tire has almost the same sidewall as a 305/30/20 so he’s not improving his situation and reason for switching in the first place.

if it fits it’ll fit by millimeters. and your wheel speed/mph sensor will be reading falsely low 5% on 275 and 7% on 285. So you will speed without knowing it basically.
Measure distance from wheel to fender on both sides currently. You need at least .75” inches to have a chance of fitting it.
Your best bet for more sidewall is 19s.

Thank you for the insight. It has R35 GTR wheels and I know it came with 255/40R20 and 285/35R20 but those are some hard sizes to come by

Q60 RWD red sport comes with
Front: P255/35R20, rear: P275/30R20
Q60 AWD red sport comes with
P255/35R20 Squared

No real point to go staggered on AWD besides looks.

That is true. Though considering the wheels are 20x9.5 in the front and 20x10.5 in the rear, i don't see how i can have a squared setup.

Might have to do a little more research. Thank you!

what year of R35 wheels are you running? I’m running 17 R35 wheels on my Q.
255/40/20
285/35/20
The tires are really common. And easy to find
285/35/20 would net him .3” more sidewall, maybe that would be enough for his needs.

What tires are you going to run? I'd stay away from High Performance Summer Tires if you want a comfy ride. Also, check the specs of the two different sizes to try and match the overall diameter.

I'm considering going 255/35/20 in the front and 295/30/20 in the rear. Front wheels are 20x9 and rears are 20x10.5. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4s runs 26" diameter on those two tire sizes.

The sizes you mentioned are pretty close.
265/35/20 is 27.3"
305/30/20 is 27.2"

They also have about a 4 rev per mile difference as well compared to no difference b/w the 255 and 295
