Earlier I asked about wheel spacers but didn't get any replies but have different questions

Currently running
20x9.5 265/35r20
20x10.5 305/30r20
On my 17 q60 awd

Do you think 245/45r20 front 275 or 285/40r20 rear would fit? Trying to have some more sidewall for comfort for my girl who would drive my car often

ehhh I would run
255/40/20
275/35/20
That’s what I’m running
You would be pretty outta spec running the size you are wanting to run. It will “fit” however. That will be a lotta wear and tear on the drive terrain

A few problems with running those specs.

Firstly the front is much larger diameter vs rear and may throw off the wheel speed difference front to rear kicking in traction control and/or awd system best to stay as close diameter front to rear as possible. A 245/40/20 is much closer to 275/35/20 in diameter.

and secondly a 275/35/20 tire has almost the same sidewall as a 305/30/20 so he’s not improving his situation and reason for switching in the first place.

if it fits it’ll fit by millimeters. and your wheel speed/mph sensor will be reading falsely low 5% on 275 and 7% on 285. So you will speed without knowing it basically.
Measure distance from wheel to fender on both sides currently. You need at least .75” inches to have a chance of fitting it.
Your best bet for more sidewall is 19s.

Thank you for the insight. It has R35 GTR wheels and I know it came with 255/40R20 and 285/35R20 but those are some hard sizes to come by

Q60 RWD red sport comes with
Front: P255/35R20, rear: P275/30R20
Q60 AWD red sport comes with
P255/35R20 Squared

No real point to go staggered on AWD besides looks.

That is true. Though considering the wheels are 20x9.5 in the front and 20x10.5 in the rear, i don't see how i can have a squared setup.

Might have to do a little more research. Thank you!

what year of R35 wheels are you running? I’m running 17 R35 wheels on my Q.
255/40/20
285/35/20
The tires are really common. And easy to find
285/35/20 would net him .3” more sidewall, maybe that would be enough for his needs.

What tires are you going to run? I'd stay away from High Performance Summer Tires if you want a comfy ride. Also, check the specs of the two different sizes to try and match the overall diameter.

I'm considering going 255/35/20 in the front and 295/30/20 in the rear. Front wheels are 20x9 and rears are 20x10.5. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4s runs 26" diameter on those two tire sizes.

The sizes you mentioned are pretty close.
265/35/20 is 27.3"
305/30/20 is 27.2"

They also have about a 4 rev per mile difference as well compared to no difference b/w the 255 and 295

Could you do 295/30 R20 on the rear??
I got 305/30R20 without rubbing issues. If you do 295/30 you’d go with 255/35 in the front. I have 265/35 in the front and 305/30 in the back, 15mm spacer in the front

Again, I’m on R35 GTR stock forged Rays wheels.
Specs are
20x9.5 +45 front 265/35R20
20x10.5 +25 rear 305/30R20

rear looks aggressive just because the offset. Front is +45 but pretty much +30 as it’s sitting on Z1 motorsports 15mm spacers.

if I would do it again, I’d do 245/40 275/35 combo just because 305 is too wide that it sucks in snow, even with AWD but fitment wise no problem

Thanks so much for the pics man. See i want to keep the stock wheels for now. But since I got my car used it came with the same tires size front and back. And I want the tires to at least be flush to the side fenders. Do u know how wide are the front and back stock 20"? Here are the pics for my front back tires they are difrent brand so I'm assuming the person that had it before had to replace the rear tires. For some reason, but didn't go with the 275 30 .

stock 20” run

255/40R20 20x9 +40 on square setup

255/35R20 20x9 +40
275/35R20 20x9.5 +47
on staggered setup from the factory

Oh, also. If you are on AWD platform, and decide to run staggered setup front and rear need to be within 1% on overall diameter

245/40 275/35
265/35 305/30
255/35 295/30
245/35 285/35
245/40 285/35
255/35 305/30
255/40 285/35
255/40 295/35

These 20” all fit within 1% difference to run.

Stock R35 GTR comes with 255/40R20 and 285/35R20 on AWD setup, it fills the rear tire wheel gap really well and some fat rear end look too.

I'm on stock rwd 20" set up what would you suggest to run where my tires r nice and flush with my fenders. Like i said I have 255 35 all around and not flush with fenders specially on the back.

I would run 255/40 in the front 285/35 in the back but if you keep your wheel, think of doing 15mm spacers all around to make it flush
