The Q60 coupe that will be based on the Infiniti Q50 sedan won't go on sale until the 2016 model year, however the 2014 G37 will be renamed "Q60" to speed up Infiniti's all-new naming system. This will be a "mid-cycle refresh" lasting till 2015.

What upgrades would you like to see on Infiniti's 2014 G37 aka Q60?

Recap on the all-new naming system:
2014 Infiniti Nomenclature

Infiniti M Sedan > Infiniti Q70
Infiniti G Sports Coupe/Convertible > Infiniti Q60
Infiniti G Sedan > Infiniti Q50
Infiniti QX Full-size Luxury SUV > Infiniti QX80
Infiniti FX Performance Crossover > Infiniti QX70
Infiniti JX 7-passenger Luxury Crossover > Infiniti QX60
Infiniti EX Personal Luxury Crossover > Infiniti QX50

Curious how this till turn out, being called a mid-cycle refresh can say a lot about it. it can either be a G37 with design similar to the current M37 to slowly introduce the new design in 2016 or be very close to the current g37 with minimal visual upgrades.

I was wondering this myself. I'd find it interesting if Infiniti uses this time to bridge the gap. do expect a major revamp of the q60 when it is released in 2016.

interesting.....

the m37 was styled differently from the rest, most noticeably the G37.

i would really like to see the below shrinked onto a G37 chassis with 2 doors less...

Exterior might get a slight refresh though I have my doubts.

Maybe the interior gets a similar interior to the Q50?

The exterior still holds some of its traits from the previous G37 but yes it will be a revamp of course. If they dont they will be holding the same look for 7 years and cause interests lost in their brand as the G line was a important weapon.

Interior wise we pretty much just have to look at the Sedan version the Q50. this is the same as i predicted before for the G37 coupe.

I cant wait to see the revised version of the Q70 (M line).

Seen some pictures of a 2014 Infiniti Q60 on this forum somewhere and it's just what a lot of us thought it would be, a rebadged Infiniti G37. They should have at least made it a bit special with a slightly different aero package, wheels, etc making that 2 year production run a really special one.

Plus it would have pre-2014 G37 owners wanting to go for an OEM 2014-2015 facelift.

I agree at least they should have gave it a different look from the base model. A skirt or different bumper package would have made it look better. The different in performance between the base and premium vs the IPL did do that much justice being the performance model.

Yeah I remember reading about it on the Infiniti website when I was building one to buy but when I looked at the horsepower difference they took me in for a surprise it was only like a 13hp difference in upgrade on the IPL. Other than the suspension and brakes i don't think there was much added on except the price.

Only 13hp difference? I thought the IPL was supposed to be their performance line. What's the difference in price?

The IPL line was such a let down infiniti needs to come up with something better. I don't remember the exact figure but it was at least a couple of grand and not worth it at all.

If you guy haven't heard of the rumors they do plan to make the new IPL Q60 coupe with some serious power but with the help of electric motors to generate around 560hp from the v6. If anything I hope the price range is still only a couple grand and not be jacked up because of the horsepower output.

That's how it always is when ever a car maker introduces an unofficial performance model, it's just a mild upgrade and nothing drastic.

Lexus did the same or similar with the new GS350F-Sport. But something serious needs to be done for the 2016 Q60, it seems to be in their plan, we just need to be patient.

I think it was less than mild the IPL G37 wasn't even luke warm. Come on then, is that what should be said to the owners of them. Hey sorry guys I know you guys expected a whole lot from the IPL line but just be patient its in the works guys. For the next one...

Funny you brought up the Lexus GS-Fsport, I would just really consider that a trim more than anything they still do have the IS-F which has debuted yet but it won't be no surprise at just how much horsepower that will be pumping out.

That is dreaming big. If its 560HP it'll be priced like any other luxury 500+hp car.

thats how I see it, there's no way they will make that big of a jump from current IPL models only to set it at a price not too far away from the current iPL models.

wont happen unless it's a totally different model sitting above the Q60.
nothing was ever announced about IPL stepping up their game and offering performance on a different level, if they do, expect that hike you don't want to see.
