A couple quick questions for the veteran Q60 guys - Picking up some new wheels, they're 20x9F and 20x10.5R, +45 in the rear and the guy couldn't remember the offset up front. Is there a minimum or maximum offset I should be concerned with?

The main questions though are about the tires he has on them - My Q60 is RWD, but do I need to worry about any specific ratio between front and rear tire widths? The guy has some stretch with 265s on the rear and 215s in the front, so I'll be replacing the fronts ASAP (and potentially the rears). The tires are pretty new though, so if the ratio isn't an issue I may put them on for a few days while I wait on the new fronts. Also, I've noticed a lot of guys on 20s are running a height of 35 up front and 30 in the rear, these are 35s front and rear, will that cause any issues?

Thanks in advance!

The online sources say the stock offset for the 19s are 37et and 20s are 40et on a redsport, 40et for 19" on a premium. With a 45et, you run the risk of rubbing on the brake caliphers. You might need a small spacer to clear the caliphers depending on the style of the wheels.

Thanks Tem! I was drinking Friday night and said **** it, figured I'd grab spacers if necessary. Luckily though the +45 cleared the brakes just fine, and the fronts are +35 so they're right in line with stock specs. They're Velgen VMB5s, which are unfortunately bright red at the moment. I'll be getting them repainted bright silver.

The tires aren't in as good of condition as they appeared in the pics though, so I'm going to replace all 4 instead of just the fronts. I found a local mustang guy selling a nearly perfect staggered set of Pirellis, problem is the aspect ratio is too high front and rear. They're 255/40 up front and 285/35 in the rear. I'm only considering these because the guy is basically giving them away and I would only be using them for a couple of months, that way I'm not buying a full set of tires right before xmas vacation. (Considering I've bought new wheels and a jb4 in the last week, my fiance wouldn't be too pleased with me)

Question is, would the increased aspect ratio cause any issues? After some research it looks like the speedo might be a little off due to the increased overall height of the setup (+0.5 in), but are there any other potential problems?

This forum is awesome, thanks for all of the help Tem!

it can cause issues with the traction control...i would use a tire calculator and see if the tire sizes you want to use are within 3% of the stock aspect ratios. Good call on getting them repainted..man thats a ugly color for wheels

Yea I think the red is why the guy had them priced so low, and the shitty part is that where the powder coating is chipped, I can see that they WERE the perfect silver. I ran one of those tire comparison calculators yesterday though and they were 3.3% taller, so no dice on this set unfortunately. Full set of Pirellis w/+90% tread left for <$300... Would've been a solid pick up.

Finally got some new tires this weekend. Now I just gotta get the wheels repainted a different, less obnoxious, color. May need some spacers up front and a drop too...

Velgen VMB5s
Front - 20x9 +32 255/35
Rear - 20x10.5 +45 285/30

Is this setup safe to run? A lot of people tell me that the rolling diameter of the front and rear do not match and that it would ruin the awd system? Does it rub? I am thinking of this setup but afraid it would run.

I will be on RSR downs and have narrow my choices down to these wheels. Thinking of stagger setup in 20”. Which one do you think would look good with iridium blue. I don’t race or track my car. Just normal driving. I’m thinking of running 20x9 with 255/35/20 and 20x10 or 10.5 with 285/30 or 295/30. Will I have any issues with this setup? The stock rolling diameter is 27 1/16. This front 255/35/20 setup will give me a rolling diameter of 27 1/32 (0% change). The rear 285/30/20 on 20x10 setup with give me a rolling diameter of 26 3/4 (-1.1% change). The rear 295/30/20 on 20x10.5 will give me 26 31/32 (-.2% change). Would I have any problem with rubbing if I’m going 255 front and 295 rear?

Thanks
